Agartala, 18th February 2025: Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has criticized the CPI(M), calling it an “endangered species” that will soon lose all its seats due to its undemocratic approach.

Speaking ahead of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at Sonar Tori State Guest House in Agartala, Deb asserted that the CPI(M)’s decline in Tripura is inevitable.

“The DISHA meeting is held quarterly to review the implementation of central government schemes at the state level. This time, we assessed around 47 schemes to ensure their smooth execution and address any challenges faced by the departments. The ultimate goal is to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship programs within a stipulated timeframe,” he said.

Deb also accused the opposition of avoiding participation in governance-related discussions.

“We always invite opposition leaders to attend the DISHA meetings, but they never show up. They are like a different species—one that is now endangered. In Tripura, CPI(M) only managed to win a few seats due to Congress, but even those will vanish soon because of their undemocratic behavior,” he remarked.
