Agartala, 18th February 2025:   A devastating fire broke out in the Shantipalli area of Amarpur on Tuesday morning, completely reducing a house owned by Shrivas Saha to ashes. Saha, who resides in Agartala for work, had rented out the house to a couple, who were present at the time of the incident.

According to local sources, the couple often quarreled over domestic matters and had engaged in an argument on Monday night as well. On Tuesday morning, residents of the area heard a loud explosion and rushed out of their homes, only to find Saha’s house engulfed in flames. The fire brigade was immediately alerted.

Firefighters arrived promptly and managed to bring the fire under control. However, by the time the flames were doused, the entire house, including the living room and kitchen, had been destroyed. The estimated damage is reported to be in the range of several lakhs of rupees.

A local resident mentioned that although Saha does not live in the house, his tenants were present. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, but witnesses suspect that a cooking gas cylinder explosion may have triggered the blaze. The authorities are investigating the incident to determine the precise cause of the fire.
