Agartala, 16th January 2026:  Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today emphasized that the BJP’s focus is on development-driven politics rather than muscle power, as the party prepares to contest the upcoming elections in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and other constituencies.

Addressing an organizational meeting at Barjala in Agartala, Dr. Saha said, “Our primary goal is to secure victory in the TTAADC and the ten seats currently held by the opposition CPIM, along with three Congress seats. Unlike the communists, we will not rely on muscle power in politics. Voters are looking for genuine development, and politics built on intimidation or coercion is not sustainable. While wrongdoings must be addressed, our approach is through action and constructive protest, not violence.”

He highlighted the difference between BJP’s governance and that of previous administrations. “Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the state witnessed scams, corruption, riots, and unrest. Under PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda, things have transformed. Violence and unrest have significantly decreased. Our party workers, or karyakartas, serve as ambassadors of society, promoting peace and development across the state. The people of our villages trust BJP because of our disciplined approach,” he added.

Dr. Saha also contrasted the BJP’s governance with the CPIM’s. “While the communists relied on lies and disruption, we focus on tangible development. The GDP has grown under PM Modi, and state initiatives have strengthened healthcare and education infrastructure. Law and order improvements have encouraged investment, and employment opportunities are being created transparently,” he said.
