BJP Alleges Tipra Motha Role in Party Office Fire in Manubankul

Date:

Agartala, 21st April 2026:  Tension gripped the Manubankul area following a late-night arson attack on a party office of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Nutanbazar locality on Monday.

According to BJP leaders, the office was deliberately set on fire, allegedly by miscreants समर्थित by the Tipra Motha. However, no official response has yet been issued from Tipra Motha regarding these allegations.

On Tuesday morning, BJP Mandal President Bipul Bhowmik, along with other party leaders, visited the site to assess the damage and review the situation. A written complaint has also been filed with the local police, who have since initiated an investigation.

In a related development, another BJP party office in the Purana Bazar area of Manubankul reportedly came under attack the same day. Local sources suggest that sporadic violence and unrest have been occurring in the region since the declaration of the ADC (Autonomous District Council) election results.

Further escalating tensions, around 20 rubber trees were allegedly cut down in the plantation of local youth leader Sushanta Mog. BJP supporters have again blamed individuals linked to Tipra Motha for the act.

Despite these incidents, no direct physical assaults on individuals have been reported so far.

It is noteworthy that in the recently concluded ADC elections, the BJP secured victory in the 28-Shilachari Manubankul constituency. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as investigations continue.
