Agartala, 23rd March 2024: In a significant political development, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates for the upcoming elections have announced their schedule for the submission of nomination papers. Biplab Kumar Deb, the BJP candidate for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency, and Deepak Majumder, contesting for the 7 Ramnagar assembly constituency, are set to officially enter the electoral fray on March 27.
The capital city is expected to witness a vibrant display of support as the candidates, accompanied by party workers and supporters, will march through the streets en route to submitting their nominations. The procession is scheduled to commence at 10 am from Rabindra Bhavan, symbolizing a show of strength and unity within the party ranks.
In preparation for this event, Rajeev Bhattacharya, the state BJP president, convened a crucial meeting with the corporators of all wards under the Agartala Municipal Corporation. The meeting, which took place at the state BJP office on Saturday, was also attended by Papiya Dutta, the vice-president of the state BJP, and Asim Bhattacharya, the president of the BJP Sadar District Urban Committee, among other dignitaries.
Asim Bhattacharya, in a recent interview, emphasized the importance of the nomination day, marking it as a pivotal moment for the party’s campaign. He detailed the planned activities and the involvement of the party’s leadership at various levels, indicating a well-orchestrated effort to galvanize support ahead of the elections.
The BJP’s organizational machinery has been mobilized, with all the corporators of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, state office bearers, and presidents of 7 mandals under the Sadar subdivision actively participating in the preparations. This collective effort underscores the party’s commitment to a robust campaign and its determination to make a significant impact in the upcoming electoral contests.
