Agartala: February 09. A woman advocate has filed a case against Corporator Abhishek Datta for allegedly molesting and assaulting her when she was on the way to home after finishing work at the chamber of senior advocate Purushottam Roy Barman who is also contesting in this election independently.
The woman advocate identified as Sushmita Paul has filed the FIR with the West Agartala Police station today.
“….today on at about 12.15 pm after attending my Chamber works of Sri Purushottam Roy Barman, Sr. Advocate through Banerjee Para Road by walking I was proceeding towards Metro Bazaar for purchasing necessary items. At that time, under the leadership of Abhishek Datta, of Ramnagar, Road No-2, Councilor of Ward No-18 AMC, under 7 Ramnagar Assembly Constituency, 40 to 50 persons with women miscreants suddenly showed a gun and stopped me & physically assaulted me. They also molested me. Immediately therefore, I over telephone informed the same to my father & my Senior Purushuttam Roy Barman & from there they have rescued me”, she alleged in the FIR.
She further said at that time, she could notice that the said miscreants had taken out daos, bamboo sticks and iron rods to inflict grave injuries upon her and a pistol was with Abhishek Datta
“From the entire episode, apart from my sustaining injury, I could perceive that the said youths had the firm determination to kill me. The weapons used in the incident, iron rods, bamboo sticks & pistol singularly point to that conclusion. I pray for proper investigation of the case and arrest of the said miscreants. My life is under threat. The accused persons are threatening me not to lodge compliant regarding the said incident”, alleged Sushmita.
