Agartala, 10th March 2026: Tripura BJP General Secretary Bipin Debbarma announced on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is well-positioned to win all 28 seats in the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, citing the decline of the Tipra Motha Party.
Debbarma made the statement while welcoming 275 voters from 55 families who left Tipra Motha to join the BJP. The group was led by Gurupada Debbarma, a central observer of Tipra Motha.
“During discussions, these voters expressed that while development initiatives have progressed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, the Tipra Motha Party, which has governed the council for the past five years, has failed to deliver results,” said Bipin Debbarma.
He added that the Tipra Motha Party’s inability to serve the public effectively prompted many to switch allegiance to the BJP. “We are committed to the welfare and development of the district under the leadership of PM Modi, Chief Minister Dr. Saha, and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya,” he stated.
Addressing potential alliances, Debbarma clarified that no seat-sharing talks have taken place with Tipra Motha. “Decisions regarding alliances will be managed by our central leadership. Currently, BJP is prepared to contest all 28 seats independently. Public sentiment favors BJP, while Tipra Motha, frustrated by its declining support, claims BJP cannot secure a single seat. The voters will have the final say,” he concluded.
