Agartala, 9th April 2025:  Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury has launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government in Tripura, accusing it of endangering the future of the state’s youth by steering them towards drug abuse and illegal activities.

Speaking at a convention organised by the youth wing of the Left Front, Chaudhury—who was recently inducted into the CPIM Polit Bureau—said the BJP government has failed to provide employment opportunities and instead is systematically dismantling the aspirations of young people.

“The future of our youth is under serious threat. Under BJP rule, there is no job security, no vision, only destruction. Alongside BJP, both IPFT and Tipra Motha are also complicit in pushing our youth towards addiction and unlawful activities,” Chaudhury alleged. He further claimed that this is part of a larger conspiracy by the ruling government to sabotage the prospects of the coming generations. However, he said, Left-affiliated student organisations such as the TSF, SFI, and DYFI are actively resisting these policies.

“They are raising their voices and taking to the streets. Statewide conventions will soon be held to mobilise support and chart a collective path to safeguard our youth and the future of Tripura,” he added.
