Agartala, 9th January 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today voiced firm optimism about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prospects in West Bengal, stating that the Trinamool Congress’s criticism and political rhetoric will not obstruct the BJP’s advance in the state.
Addressing the media, Dr. Saha said the BJP’s core strength lies in its discipline, tireless work ethic, and governance model centered on public welfare. According to him, sincere efforts and dedication to national interests naturally reflect in electoral success.
Citing Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Minister remarked that relentless hard work—from dawn till late night—ultimately determines political outcomes. He stressed that governance should always be guided by the interests of citizens and the nation, rather than personal or partisan motives.
Targeting the Trinamool Congress, Dr. Saha alleged that while the BJP remains focused on development and welfare schemes, the TMC is more concerned with serving its own interests. He claimed the party’s statements are misleading and lack tangible results. Referring to BJP’s earlier victories, he said that following Bihar, the party has now turned its full attention to West Bengal and is confident of forming the next government there.
Dr. Saha further pointed to the BJP’s growing influence nationwide, mentioning recent successes and governance initiatives in states such as Odisha, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh. He attributed this expansion to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, highlighting progress in national security, infrastructure development, and the revival of India’s cultural and religious heritage.
Responding to accusations related to central agencies, the Chief Minister asserted that the Enforcement Directorate functions autonomously and without political pressure. He maintained that investigations are carried out strictly within the framework of the law and that action is taken wherever irregularities are found. With reference to West Bengal, he added that accountability has already been established in several instances.
Concluding his statement, Dr. Saha reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to development-oriented governance and national progress. He said the people of West Bengal understand that a safe and prosperous future depends on a government that truly works for the public, expressing confidence that the BJP will secure their mandate.
