Agartala, 4th May 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday said that the recent electoral outcome in West Bengal reflects a strong desire for change among the people and marks what he described as an end to a “fear psychosis” in the state.
Speaking to reporters during a BJP victory rally in Agartala city, Dr. Saha said the results fulfilled long-standing expectations of the party and its supporters.
“Not only West Bengal, but people across the country are happy with this outcome. In particular, Bengal has seen a significant change. This is positive news for the entire nation,” he said.
He credited the party’s performance to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, and other senior leaders.
According to him, sustained efforts by BJP leaders and workers across states contributed to the electoral success. “I had travelled to several places during the campaign and witnessed strong public support for the BJP,” he added.
Dr. Saha also noted the party’s performance in other regions, including bypoll results in Tripura’s Dharmanagar, as well as outcomes in Assam, Puducherry, and Kerala, saying the BJP continues to expand its support base under the Prime Minister’s leadership.
He further remarked that voters are seeking governance focused on peace, stability, and development. “People want effective administration and an end to misrule. This mandate reflects that aspiration,” he said.
Dr. Saha added that BJP workers from Tripura actively participated in campaigning efforts in West Bengal and congratulated the electorate for what he called a mandate for change.
