Agartala, 3rd May 2025:  Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Border Security Force (BSF) carried out two successful anti-smuggling operations in Tripura, resulting in the seizure of high-value contraband.

In a late-night operation between May 2 and 3, the BSF Quick Reaction Team intercepted a Bolero Pick-up vehicle (Registration No. TR05F1736) near Paddapuker Radhhapur Shiv Mandir on National Highway-08. The driver of the vehicle managed to flee, while two escort vehicles—a Safari positioned in front and a Wagon following behind—escaped as well. Upon thorough inspection of the seized vehicle, authorities discovered 150 cartons containing 15 lakh pieces of foreign-brand cigarettes, including Elegant, Super Slim Mond, and Patron Nano White. The contraband, valued at approximately ₹2.82 crore, was confiscated.

In a separate operation, BSF troops from BOP Pathridwar, West Tripura, thwarted another smuggling attempt, seizing 3,156 mobile display units worth ₹22 lakh.
