The plea of 91-year-old Singh came to the notice of the Chief Minister and he considered the matter with sincerity.
The state cabinet meeting on Wednesday held an elaborate discussion to remember the contribution of veteran freedom fighter and former state chief minister late Sachindra Lal Singh and decided to allot a type-four government accommodation in Agartala as per his wife’s plea. Singh can enjoy this benefit for the rest of her life. Currently she lives in Faridabad, Haryana.
Late Sachindra Lal Singh’s contribution to building modern Tripura is undeniable. Sachindra Lal Singh served as the Chief Minister of the state from 1st July 1963 to 1st November 1971. He was a freedom fighter. He was elected MP from West Tripura Lok Sabha seat. In 2012, he was posthumously awarded the “Friends of Liberation War” by the Government of Bangladesh for his outstanding contribution to the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
