Cabinet decisions include recruitment, smartphone scheme & setting of new Tripura Bhavan in Delhi: Sushanta

Agartala, December 01: The Tripura government has announced the recruitment of 53 posts in the finance and health departments, as well as the distribution of smartphones to 19,796 final year students in government colleges. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting held today at the Secretariat.

Tourism Minister Sushant Chowdhury briefed the media about the cabinet decisions in a press conference. He said that the finance department will recruit 23 senior computer assistants and 10 lower division clerks through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). The health department will appoint 10 dental technicians and 10 dental hygienists on a temporary basis.

The minister also said that the cabinet approved the construction of a new Tripura Bhavan in Dwarka, New Delhi, at a cost of Rs. 23.66 crore. This will be the third Tripura Bhavan in the national capital. He said that the government has taken this step to cater to the needs and welfare of the people of the state.

He further said that the government will spend Rs. 9.89 crore to provide smartphones to 19,796 students under the Chief Minister Yuva Samaya Yojana. He said that this scheme was launched to empower the youth with digital connectivity and education. He added that 28,745 students have already received smartphones under this scheme.
