Call Centre burned down amidst prolonged power outages in Udaipur

Date:

Agartala, June 26, 2023: The residents of Natunbazar’s Sukanta Colony have reached a boiling point due to the prolonged power outages plaguing their area. In a display of frustration, an angry mob set fire to the call centre of the Natunbazar electricity office late last night. The blaze resulted in the destruction of office furniture and important documents.

The situation escalated when the fire brigade arrived at the scene, as the crowd prevented the firefighters from extinguishing the fire. Promptly, the Natunbazar police were called to the incident site. However, they initially observed the spectacle and engaged in repeated conversations with the people, urging them to cease the fire. Eventually, the crowd relented and requested the fire department to intervene. After a considerable amount of time, the fire was finally brought under control.

Surprisingly, despite the significant nature of the event, the senior authorities of the department failed to visit the New Market area to assess the condition of the department’s employees and the overall situation.

The incident highlights the immense frustration and public outrage stemming from the enduring power outages in Sukanta Colony. It also underscores the urgent need for the authorities to address the grievances of the residents and take concrete measures to improve the power supply infrastructure in the area.
