Cattle electrocuted at Natunbazar, locals blame Power department negligence

Agartala, 21st June 2025:  A cattle was electrocuted this morning in the Natunbazar Arvind Colony area after coming into contact with an exposed electrical transformer, triggering widespread outrage among residents.

According to locals, the roadside transformer has been lying in a dangerous condition for months without fencing or warning signs, posing a serious threat to both humans and animals. Despite repeated appeals, the Electricity Corporation has allegedly taken no preventive measures.

“The transformer is an accident waiting to happen. We live in constant fear,” said a resident. The incident has intensified public anger, with many accusing officials of gross negligence. As of now, the Electricity Corporation has not issued any statement.
