Agartala, 11th September 2024: In a significant move towards self-reliance, the central government has been actively implementing various projects, including the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. A certificate distribution ceremony marked the conclusion of a five-day training camp at Nalchar Community Hall on Wednesday.
Approximately 350 trainees from Sepahijala district received training in diverse skills such as sewing, bamboo basket making, painting, and carpentry at the local multi-purpose training center. The certificates were handed over by MLA Kishor Barman of Nalchar assembly constituency during the ceremony.
The event saw the presence of Chairperson of Nalchar Panchayat Samiti Swapan Kumar Das; DPMU of National Skill Development Corporation Ridhi Dhar; and State Coordinator of North Eastern Handicraft and Handloom Development Corporation Limited Asim Sutradhar.
MLA Kishor Barman emphasized the importance of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in fostering self-reliance across the nation. “This project is crucial in making our country self-reliant,” he stated. The rural unemployed expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for providing resources to avail interest-free loans under this scheme.
The State Coordinator Asim Sutradhar elaborated on the training process and how individuals can become self-reliant by utilizing the loans provided under the scheme. A beneficiary also shared their appreciation for the government’s support, highlighting the ease of obtaining loans through the training program.
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme continues to play a pivotal role in empowering artisans and craftspeople, contributing to the broader goal of national self-reliance.
