Gomati district hosts Science Seminar 2024 on ‘Artificial Intelligence – Potentials & Concerns’

Agartala, 11th September 2024:   The Gomati District Science Seminar 2024 was held on Wednesday at Hariananda Higher Secondary School in Udaipur focusing on the theme “Artificial Intelligence – Potentials and Concerns.” The seminar saw participation from young scientists representing two schools from each of the seven blocks of Gomati district, Udaipur Municipal Council and Amarpur Nagar Panchayat.

The event commenced with a tree-watering ceremony symbolizing a commitment to growth and sustainability. The seminar was presided over by Associate Professor of Mathematics Abhijit Pal, Lecturer and Head of the Department of Computer Science at Bandwar Polytechnic College Subir Saha and Assistant Principal of Udaipur Hariananda Higher Secondary School Oindrila Karmakar.

Students delivered eloquent presentations on artificial intelligence, showcasing their knowledge and insights. Udaipur Don Bosco School, Amarpur PM-SHRI School, and Udaipur English Medium School secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively. Anirban Saha of Udaipur Don Bosco School, Subhajit Sarkar of Amarpur PM-SHRI School, and Debaparna Das of Udaipur English Medium School were awarded prizes and certificates for their outstanding performances.

All participating young scientists received certificates of appreciation. The top two schools will advance to the state-level science seminar, with the potential to compete at the national level in Maharashtra.
