Agartala, 12th March 2026:    The Union Government has initiated plans to improve infrastructure at three traditional temples in South Tripura, a move welcomed by former Chief Minister and sitting MP Biplab Kumar Deb.

He expressed his gratitude to Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for approving the proposal.

According to reports, Deb had submitted a formal request to the Tourism Ministry seeking development measures for Bilonia’s Jogmaya Kalibari, Muhuripur’s Raj Rajeshwari Kalibari, and Sabroom’s Daityeshwari Kalibari.

Acting on this proposal, the Centre has now taken steps to begin the process of upgrading facilities at these sites.

Officials believe the initiative will not only enhance the infrastructure of the temples but also open new avenues for religious tourism in the region.

MP Deb voiced optimism that with coordinated efforts between the Centre and the state, many more religious and historical sites across Tripura could see similar development in the future.
