Agartala, September 13: In a concerning turn of events, the driver of a notorious drug smuggler has once again managed to evade police scrutiny, casting a shadow of doubt on law enforcement’s effectiveness. This incident took place on Wednesday, has prompted questions regarding the police’s ability to apprehend criminal actors.

The incident took place when the Champaknagar and Jirania police stations’ staff collaborated to conduct a vehicle inspection operation in the Champaknagar area. During the operation, the police intercepted a vehicle loaded with potatoes and recovered a staggering 42 bags of Eskuf Cough Syrup hidden within.

According to the Champaknagar police, the estimated market value of the confiscated contraband is approximately Rs 30 to 35 lakhs. However, despite this significant seizure, no arrests were made as the driver of the vehicle managed to escape, leaving the pursuing police empty-handed.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, launching a case under specific legal provisions. Yet, the prevailing concern revolves around how the driver was able to evade capture, despite the combined efforts of two police stations. This has raised suspicions of possible collusion or a secret understanding between the two police stations, potentially shielding criminal activities.
