Chief Minister visits “Apana Ghar” old age home, donates cheque of Rs 20,000

Agartala, October 1, 2022: Ahead of Durga Puja celebration, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha visited Apna Ghar, an old age home run by Abalamban society with his wife Swapna Saha and donated a cheque of Rs 20 thousand for the welfare of old inmates in memory of his heavenly mother-in-law Sabita Poddar on Saturday.

Addressing the inmates i.e. old mothers staying in his home, Dr Saha said “You are not alone, the state government and people are with you. The present government of the state is always trying to improve this old age home. The government is on the side of the residents of old age homes in any kind of problem.”

Chief Minister congratulated everyone on the occasion of “World Elders Day” today and also appreciate every employee involved in the organization for their work. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha also shed light on the spouse of late Chief Minister Sudhiranjan Majumdar, late Milon Prabha Majumdar. He said, her contribution to the development of this nursing home is a lot.

Moreover, clothes were distributed among old women. Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and president of the Abalamban society Dipak Majumder, official of the organization Dulal Das also spoke on the occasion, MLA Dr Dilip Kumar Das and various officials of the organization were present.
