Agartala, September 30: Clothes were distributed to 100 poor families of Dakshin Ganga Nagar, known as Bagicha area of Dharmanagar, on the eve of Durga Puja. This materials were distributed by Rotary Club of Dharmanagar and Bharat Sevashram Sangh in a joint initiative.
The incumbent president Rotarian Subir Shome said that after various tests since 2006 and 2007, they chose this Dakshin Ganganagar Gram Panchayat. Then they realized that the village was neglected and quite backward in terms of drinking water and economically. Since then the Rotary Club of Dharmanagar has held their various welfare camps here.
From time to time it has become a special duty of them to arrange study materials for the students of the area, to arrange higher education for those who are talented, to arrange drinking water in the area, and also to bring smiles to the faces of the needy by distributing clothes before various social events.
The Rotary Club of Dharmanagar has chosen this village as a model village and is making progress. On behalf of the club, President Subir Shome thanked the officials of the association for the way Bharat Sevashram Sangh joined hands with them in distributing cloths on the eve of Durga Puja.
