Club Secretary hacked to death in Kataltali, tension grips area

Agartala, 23rd June 2026: A shocking murder has rocked the Kataltali area of West Tripura, where Samir Das, secretary of the Tarun Sangh Club, was allegedly hacked to death by two youths.

According to local sources, the accused have been identified as Swapan Sutradhar and Mithun Sutradhar, both residents of the same locality. Preliminary reports suggest that the attack may have stemmed from a long-standing personal feud, though police are investigating to determine the exact motive.

The incident triggered widespread tension in the area. To maintain law and order, a large contingent of police and central paramilitary forces has been deployed at the crime scene and surrounding localities.

Police rushed to the spot upon receiving information and have launched a manhunt to trace the accused.

The murder has cast a pall of grief over the community. Family members of the deceased have demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and strict punishment.
