Agartala, 9th March 2025:   Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha launched a scathing attack on the CPI(M) and Congress, holding them responsible for the state’s prolonged period of unrest and underdevelopment. Addressing a massive public gathering at Swami Vivekananda Maidan on the occasion of the BJP-led state government’s two-year anniversary, Dr. Saha asserted that Tripura attained “true freedom” only after the BJP came to power. The event was graced by BJP National President JP Nadda.

Expressing gratitude to the party leadership, Dr. Saha said, “I thank BJP National President JP Nadda for joining us in this celebration and extend my heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose vision our government is working tirelessly. I am also grateful to Home Minister Amit Shah. It is under PM Modi’s guidance that Tripura finally broke free from the 35-year-long misrule of the CPI(M).”

The Chief Minister accused the CPI(M) of fostering an era of “terrorism, murder, violence, and instability.” He also criticized the Congress, stating that their governance was marred by corruption and lawlessness. “During their rule, two journalists were murdered, and now the CBI is investigating the case. I am confident that the culprits will soon face justice. It was under their administration that Tripura witnessed the violent riots of the 1980s,” he added.

Highlighting the developmental strides under the BJP government, Dr. Saha said that in the past seven years, the state’s budget has doubled, and ₹7,000 crore has been allocated for infrastructure development to boost investment and economic growth. “Our per capita income has risen, the GSDP has improved, and the law and order situation has significantly stabilized. Tripura is now a terrorism-free state,” he declared.

Emphasizing the impact of PM Modi’s HIRA model—Highways, Internet, Railways, and Airways—he stated that Tripura has witnessed transformative progress in connectivity. Additionally, the government has introduced 33% reservation for women in government jobs, ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process. “We are committed to generating employment opportunities, and in the coming days, 8,000 more jobs will be created,” he announced.

Dr. Saha further accused CPI(M) and Congress of misleading the public with false narratives, particularly during the 2023 Assembly Elections. “Despite their attempts to create instability, the people of Tripura once again placed their trust in the BJP. With the unwavering support of PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda, we formed the government once more,” he concluded.
