CM Criticizes Tipra Motha Over Alleged Corruption in TTAADC, Reaffirms BJP’s Commitment to Tribal Development

Date:

Agartala, 8th April 2026:   Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Tipra Motha Party, accusing it of fostering corruption and mismanagement within the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). He asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remains the only political force capable of ensuring genuine development for the Janjati communities.

Addressing the public following a series of roadshows across Bodhjangnagar-Wakhinagar, Simna-Tamakari, Jirania, and Mandainagar-Pulinpur ahead of the TTAADC elections, Dr. Saha expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the Tipra Motha-led administration.

He alleged that despite receiving substantial financial assistance at various intervals, the council has failed to deliver tangible results. Highlighting BJP’s preparedness, he stated that the party has been actively working on the ground for months, even prior to the official election announcement, and is fully committed to contesting all 28 seats independently.

Dr. Saha further claimed that public confidence in the Tipra Motha leadership has eroded due to unfulfilled promises and lack of visible progress. He cited poor conditions in certain local facilities, including smoke houses, as evidence of administrative failure. According to him, significant funds—₹35 crore for hospital development, an additional ₹10 crore beyond budget allocations, and ₹30 crore for various projects—have been provided, yet little improvement is evident.

Reflecting on past governance, he remarked that people have already experienced the rule of previous parties like the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Indian National Congress, and are now seeking transparent and accountable leadership.

Reiterating BJP’s vision, Dr. Saha emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tribal development remains a top priority, driven by sincerity and a commitment to inclusive growth.
