Agartala, 18th July 2026 :Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Saturday directed officials to complete all ongoing Smart City projects in Agartala before the upcoming Durga Puja to ensure citizens can benefit from improved infrastructure during the festive season.
The Chief Minister conducted an on-site inspection of several ongoing development works under the Smart City Mission at Bidurkarta Chowmuhani, Purvasha, Ashram Chowmuhani, Math Chowmuhani, Lal Bahadur Club, Ujan Abhoynagar, Paradise Chowmuhani and adjoining areas.
During the visit, he reviewed the progress of various projects with officials and instructed them to maintain the highest quality standards while completing the work within the stipulated timeframe.
Speaking to reporters after the inspection, Dr. Saha said the opposition frequently criticises the government despite having failed to deliver significant development during its tenure. He asserted that the present government believes in action rather than slogans and has achieved visible development across the state in a short span of time.
The Chief Minister added that infrastructure projects are progressing rapidly across Agartala and other parts of the state, reaffirming the government’s commitment to transforming the capital into a modern, clean and citizen-friendly city through improved roads, drainage systems and public spaces.
