Date:

Agartala, 9th May 2026 :  Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha has extended warm congratulations to Suvendu Adhikari on taking oath as the new Chief Minister of West Bengal. In a message shared on social media, Dr. Saha described the development as not merely a political victory but the culmination of “long years of sacrifice and struggle to safeguard Bengal.”

Dr. Saha wrote, “On behalf of the people of Tripura, I convey my heartfelt greetings and congratulations to Suvendu Adhikari on assuming office as Chief Minister of West Bengal. Today, the tears, sacrifices, and struggles of countless BJP workers in Bengal have received recognition.”

He emphasized that the historic win was the outcome of a relentless fight to protect Bengal’s soul against all odds. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s blessings, he said, the “double-engine government” has now become a reality, combining the strength of the Centre with the heartbeat of Bengal.

Expressing optimism, Dr. Saha noted that the new government would usher in peace, development, and a fresh beginning for a “Sonar Bangla.” He also highlighted the symbolic significance of the swearing-in coinciding with Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary, calling it a moment of profound cultural importance.

Quoting Tagore’s verse — “When religion calls with the sound of the conch, pledge your life in silence and humility” — Dr. Saha said the poet’s words had found true meaning in his birthplace on this day. He added that the long struggle against injustice, envisioned by Bharat Kesari Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, had finally reached fulfillment.

Dr. Saha further remarked, “In Shyama Prasad’s Bengal, the BJP government has now taken oath. I feel honored to witness this historic juncture.” He also acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP’s national president Nitin Nabin.

Looking ahead, he expressed confidence that under Suvendu Adhikari’s leadership, the aspirations of West Bengal’s people would be realized, paving the way for a prosperous and developed “Vikshit Bangla.”
