Agartala, January 28: The 19th Shishu Mela, a children’s fair organized by our club, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday at the club premises in Bardowali area of the capital city.
The Chief Minister praised the club authorities for their efforts to create a fair environment and to solve problems in the area. He said that the club was one of the places where people could come together and find solutions in a simple way.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of the children’s fair for the development of the young generation. He said that the fair not only provided physical activities, but also mental stimulation and cultural education for the children.
He said that the children should learn about the agricultural heritage of the state and become good citizens. He added that the fair gave the children a lot of experience that they could not get from studying dance and music.
The Chief Minister urged the club authorities to continue such initiatives in the future and to involve more children in the fair. He also appreciated the presence of the tiny tots, a local community group, in the event and said that they had participated in various programs with the children. He said that the fair was a way of promoting harmony and cooperation among the people of the area.
The event was also attended by Councilor Sampa Chowdhury and other dignitaries, who joined the Chief Minister in inaugurating the fair and interacting with the children. The fair will continue for a week and will feature various games, competitions, cultural shows, and exhibitions for the children.
