Agartala, January 28: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a public meeting on Sunday in Badarmokam area of RK Pur assembly constituency, where 47 voters from 16 families joined the party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The new members were received by the state finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy, who handed them the party flag and welcomed them to the BJP fold.
Roy, who was accompanied by area councilor Bikash Das, councilor Bulti Das and other party leaders, addressed the gathering and praised the new members for their decision.
He said that the BJP was the only party that was working for the development of the state and the country and that the people had witnessed the achievements of the BJP-led governments at both the levels.
He expressed confidence that the BJP would win more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections and form the government again with a thumping majority. He urged the people to vote for the BJP and support its vision of a new India.
