Agartala, May 22, 2023: Jyotsna Akhter, a student of Belonia Amjad Nagar School, set an example to prevent child marriage. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha praised the role of this student.
On Monday, the Chief Minister highlighted this by posting through his social media platforms. The Chief Minister said that marriage at an immature age has a serious adverse effect on the physical and mental development of girls. To eradicate social ills, not only administrative intervention, but society needs to be awakened.
Amjad Nagar school girl set an unique example. Besides, the Chief Minister applauded the administration of the Southern district for their effective role. He appealed to the people of all sections to speak out against child marriage in unity.
It is to be noted that the class X student of Amjad Nagar High School of Belonia subdivision is setting a precedent by ending her own marriage. This student wants to stand on her own feet by studying. So, defying the wishes of her parents, the girl stopped her marriage with the help of the Balika Mancha and the administration.
Minister Shukla Charan Noatia went to the student’s house as soon as the news was revealed. MLA Swapna Majumder, BJP State IT Incharge Chandan Debnath, the winning candidate of 37-Hrishyamukh assembly constituency and general secretary of BJP South District Committee Dipayan Chowdhury, Pradhan and Upa-Pradhan of the area and others were also present.
Minister Noatia warned the local people about child marriage and not to neglect this issue in society. He also requested that no child marriage should be done in the coming days.
