Agartala, 10th March 2026: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi always wanted to strengthen minority communities financially, and our government is also working tirelessly for the all-round welfare of people from all sections of society.
Dr. Saha said this while addressing the Mukhyamantri Sankhyalaghu Unnayan Prokolpa 2025 and the Distribution of Loan Assistance at Pragna Bhavan, Agartala today.
Dr. Saha said that there is nothing greater than education.“We must be educated for the progress of the country. A UPSC result list came out in which 52 minority Muslims cleared it. Nobody knows whose blood is being received. ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayaas,’ the mantra of PM Modi, is really inspiring, and earlier we have never heard such a thing. People from every religion are here. I visited Boxanagar during the bye-election for almost 12 to 13 days. Then someone from Delhi asked me why a Chief Minister is visiting for this bye-election. My motive is, if my visit helps in victory, then why shouldn’t I? And we have achieved victory. I reached out to all the minority Muslim families. If we want the progress of ourselves, then we must strengthen ourselves and become more knowledgeable. With communal tickling, nobody can achieve development or progress,” said Dr. Saha.
He said that everyone must work to make Tripura a new Tripura.“There is now a massive change in society. We don’t see a doctor by his religion but by his work. In our country, there are many social degradations, among which one is Triple Talaq. This is superstition. But due to PM Modi, all such things have been scrapped. Many predicted unrest, but in reality, nothing happened. We must come out from superstition. We are now focusing on development for the progress of people, along with skill development. Muslim people have skills in their heredity, which you will not find in other religions. We are working for the development of Waqf property. Some vested-interest persons were misusing Waqf property. When PM Modi takes a decision, it is only for the welfare of the people,” he said.
He said that in West Bengal, he visited yesterday, and due to votes, many illegal people have come here. They have become poor, uneducated, and engaged in illegal works, which can destroy their future.
“We have no issues with the minority Muslims of India. In Tripura, the government will not tolerate any kind of communal issues. This government wants the development of everyone. We are giving Rs 10,000 as financial help to 1,500 minority families. PM Modi always wanted to strengthen minority people financially. I firmly believe that this scheme will play an important role in improving the standard of living of the people of the minority community in the state and will further strengthen their economic foundation,” he said.
The event was attended by Minority Welfare Development Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, MLA Tafazzal Hossain, Tripura Minority Development Corporation Chairman Jasim Uddin, Tripura Waqf Board Chairman Mabaswar Ali, Tripura State Haj Committee Chairman Shah Alam and others.
