CM emphasizes significance of self-discovery through Yoga

Agartala, June 19: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha called upon the people on Monday to embrace yoga as a means of self-discovery.

The CM today inaugurated of Two day national seminar on yoga, health & happiness in MBB Auditorium, Tripura University.

Addressing the event, CM Dr Saha said every year on 21st June we celebrate International Yoga Day and it has been possible because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who in the United Nations General Assembly on 11th December 2014 has urged to declare this day as International Yoga Day.

“What I learn and what I feel that Yoga is not juts nearly an exercise. This is our philosophy of our country. Who are you and who am I is very important. If you do Yoga you will understand the meaning ‘who am I’. Sometimes we talk, move, and go somewhere else we read but we don’t know who I am. So yoga can help you in understanding yourself. Yoga will help you developing you body, mind and intellect. This is the essence of doing Yoga”, said Dr Saha.

He further said that in Tripura there are so many young girl and boy who are doing and earning the name and fame of Tripura in Yoga.

“The young boys and girls are doing Yoga and not only national but in internationally also they are receiving so many prestigious awards. Everyone should follow yoga”, he said.

The CM further assured that Vice Chancellor of Tripura Central University to solve all the problems of the varsity is facing as soon as possible.

“The VC has said that the University is facing some problems including scarcity of faculty so of course from our government side we will look into it. We want our Tripura University should be recognised by all over India. Many other universities have showed their interest to open their branched here in our state and I am sure in near future Tripura would be the hub of education”, the CM added.
