Agartala, June 19, 2023: Dharmanagar Municipal Council (DMC) today felicitated the students who excelled in the 2022-23 academic year conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education at Vivekananda Swardha Satabarshiki Bhavan here in Dharmanagar on Monday.
Assembly’s speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen inaugurated the programme offering water to a tree. He was accompanied by North Tripura district’s DM Bibek HB, DMC Chairperson Pradyut Dey Sarkar, Vice-Chairperson Manju Nath, District Education Officer Sanat Kumar Nath, and Inspectorate of Schools Haran Sen.
Students who secured above 80% marks in the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary exams in the academic year 2022-23 from schools in the Dharmanagar Municipal Council area were felicitated in the program.
The first ten students who ranked within the top ten positions received an enrichment letter, a laptop bag, a smartwatch, a scientific calculator, a Parker pen, a book, and a Neem sapling. Each student who scored above 90% received a wristwatch, a book, a Parker pen, an enrichment letter, and a Neem sapling. Each student who scored above 80% also received an appreciation letter, a wristwatch, a book, a Parker pen, and a Neem sapling. A total of 169 students were felicitated at this event.
In his speech, the Speaker Sen said that one day the students might become doctors, engineers, or pursue higher education in various professional courses not only in different states of India but also outside the country. Wherever they go after completing their higher education, each and every one of them should contribute something to their motherland and birthplace, Tripura. Tripura has given them love and affection and nurtured them, and India, their homeland, has provided them with good governance. It will be a repayment of debt to the country and to each state. The esteemed guests and meritorious students were encouraged to shed light on the subject of a bright future, he added.
