Agartala: October 21. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has flagged off another flight named Akasha Air that has started its service from Tripura today.
After flagging off ceremony Chief Minister Dr Saha said Tripura, which had been neglected for a long time, got a new horizon in the state’s connectivity by getting an international standard airport at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“A new milestone in this journey has been written today with the inauguration of private airline “Akasha Air” passenger services at this MBB Airport. The new 189-seater aircraft will depart daily from Bangalore to Agartala via Guwahati and direct to Bangalore from Agartala. Apart from this, the air passengers will benefit, I am hopeful that the economic structure of the state will be enriched due to the expansion of air communication system with different states of the country”, said the CM.
During the inauguration transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy was also present.
He said, “Akasha Air has started operating from MBB Airport, Agartala today. Glad to be a part of the programme along with CM Dr.Manik Saha Ji & other dignitaries. This flight will be operational in Bangalore – Guwahati – Agartala and Agartala – Bangalore route daily”.
