Agartala, March 18, 2023: Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on Saturday launched the state-level special health drive- “Mukhyamantri Sustho Shaishob Sustho Kaishore Abhiyan” (MSSSKA) 4.0 at Dakshini Town Hall in Sabroom.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Sabroom Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Rama Podder Dey, Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Dr Debasish Basu, Additional Secretary of the National Health Mission Subhasish Das, Director of Health Department Dr Subhasish Debbarma, Director of Family Welfare and Disease Prevention Department Dr Radha Debbarma, District Magistrate of South Tripura district Saju Vaheed A, SP of South Tripura district, Kulwant Singh, Chief Medical Officer of South Tripura district Dr Subrata Das and others.
On the occasion, the chief minister along with other guests unveiled the cover of the campaign booklet on routine immunization of children.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Dr Saha said “It is not possible to move society forward if human body and mind are not healthy. It is for this purpose that the ‘Mukhyamantri Sustho Shaishob Sustho Kaishore Abhiyan’ was launched in the state. Three phases of this campaign have already been successfully completed. The fourth campaign has started from today.”
“This campaign is playing a significant role in developing healthy human resources. The state aims to cover 12 lakh children under this campaign. On the occasion, the Chief Minister appreciated the active role of ‘Balikamanch’ in South Tripura district to prevent child marriage and teenage pregnancy”, he added.
It is to be noted that the event was organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Education and Department of Social Welfare and Social Education at the Dakshini Town Hall of Sabroom. In the event, the Chief Minister administered deworming medicine to some students. Some students were also vaccinated in the event.
On his visit to Sabroom, Chief Minister held a review meeting with district and sub-divisional officials at the conference hall of Sabroom Nagar Panchayat. In the meeting, the Chief Minister ordered the speedy completion of the development programs undertaken in the district.
