Agartala, August 14, 2022: A colourful procession was organized on Sunday with the initiative of the school education department to mark the occasion of 75th year of India’s independence. Chief Minister Prof (Dr) Manik Saha inaugurated the procession by handing over the national flag to the well-dressed Mother India at Umakanta Academy premises.
Chief Minister Dr Saha, Education Minister Ratanlal Nath, Education department’s Director Chandni Chandran and others participated in the rally with the national flag. Besides, students of Maharani Tulsibati, Shishu Bihar, Umakanta Academy, Bijoy Kumar Girls’ School, Umakanta English Medium, Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan, Boys Bodhjung, Dr BR Ambedkar High School participated.
The procession started from Umakanta Academy and gathered at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan premises via RMS Chowmuhani, Post Office Chowmuhani, Surya Chowmuhani.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said, on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ program is being held across the country to celebrate the 75th anniversary of independence. ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is being successfully celebrated in Tripura too with enthusiasm and enthusiasm through various programmes.
The Chief Minister said that the tricolour is flying at every house in the state under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to spread patriotism and patriotism among all the citizens of the country.
