Agartala, August 03: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the Intensified Mission Indradhanush program at the state level on August 05 next at Kailashahar in Unakoti district.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, NHM Tripura’s Mission Director Subhasish Das said that the routine immunization is a very important step in protecting the health of newborns, pregnant women and adolescents. Therefore, as a part of the country’s universal vaccination program, the Intensified Mission Indra Dhanush 5.0 vaccination program is going to be launched nationwide from August this year.
This is the government’s effort to ensure immunization of children and pregnant women from all sections by digitizing the country’s universal immunization programme. By registering the phone number of U-WIN Portalenese at home, one can ensure free vaccination of children and pregnant women at health institutions of their choice, he added.
Das said that the Intensified Mission Indra Dhanush 5.0 program will be conducted in total three phases this year. The first round will be from August 7 to August 12. The second round will be from September 11 to September 16. The third round will be from October 9 to October 14.
The program will vaccinate children between zero and five years of age who have not been immunized under routine immunization and pregnant women who have not been immunized regularly in all districts of the state. Mission Indra Dhanush 5.0 program will be conducted to eradicate measles-rubella from the state, he also added.
