Agartala: August 07. A silent bike rally was held by the Indian National Congress on Sunday in view of the 24-hours bandh called by the North, Unakoti, and Dhalai districts on August 8. Congress has called the bandh in view of the 16-point charters of demands including providing jobs to the unemployed, repealing the Agnipath scheme, controlling the rising prices of daily commodities, and several local demands.
Earlier, the administration was requested by Congress for permission of the bike rally in accordance with the specific legal rules. But the administration canceled this request in front of citing Covid. Therefore, a silent bike rally was organized across the city protesting against the decision of the administration. It is to be noted that CITU leader Chayan Bhattacharya joined the Congress. Youth in groups are joining Congress after seeing Chayan Bhattacharya.
