Agartala, 21st May 2025: A delegation of the CPIM led by former minister Ratan Bhowmik met the District Magistrate of Gomati distruct today to discuss the progress of various pending infrastructure projects. The delegation submitted a demand certificate outlining key concerns, including the immediate opening of the Udaipur Khilpara CNG station, the establishment of the Bagma railway halt station, the modernization of the Jamjuri Switchgate, and urgent measures to resolve drainage issues at Sukh Sagar Jala.
CPIM Divisional Secretary Dilip Datta and Sub-Divisional Secretariat Board member Shubha Chakraborty accompanied Bhowmik in the meeting, which followed an earlier deputation submitted to the District Magistrate on April 11 regarding these issues.
Providing updates, the District Magistrate assured the delegation that the Khilpara CNG station is expected to be operational by June 20, while roadwork for the Bagma Railway halt station has commenced, funded by Rs. 16 lakh from the REGA project. The authorities estimate completion within the next two months.
Regarding the Jamjuri Switchgate, the delegation was informed that modernization efforts have begun. The Railway Department has also been approached for drainage improvements at Sukh Sagar water body, though technical issues in the culverts on the railway road and illegal land filling have caused delays. The District Magistrate stated that a ground investigation is underway but will require additional time.
