Agartala, 16th March 2024: In a significant political gathering, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Janjati Executive Conference was convened on Saturday, with a grand procession that navigated through the city’s various routes before culminating at the Agartala Town Hall on Saturday.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, marking a notable assembly of political figures, including BJP candidates for the West and East Tripura Lok Sabha constituencies, Biplab Kumar Deb and Kriti Singh Debbarma, respectively, along with BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, and Tipra Motha leader Pradyot Kishore Debbarman.
During his address, Chief Minister Saha highlighted the resolution of the long-standing Bru-Reang refugee issue, praising the current government’s efforts in establishing and rehabilitating the displaced community. He underscored the government’s commitment to honoring the populace, citing the election of the first ethnic woman as the President of India and the various tributes to the state’s Maharaja BirBVikram Kishore Manikya, including the renaming of the state’s airport.
The Chief Minister’s speech took a critical turn as he lambasted the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM), accusing them of fostering division and neglecting the populace post-elections. He labeled the CPIM as a party of “murderous terror” and the Congress as one of “disorder,” questioning their recent collaboration, which he deemed an “evil force.”
In a surprising political development, the Chief Minister revealed that the Tipra Motha had declined an invitation to align with the BJP, recognizing that national development could only be achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He concluded by affirming the government’s dedication to constructing a prosperous and better Tripura.
This event comes at a pivotal moment as the region prepares for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with the BJP positioning itself as a unifying force against the backdrop of regional and national challenges.
