CPIM leaders bid farewell to late Haripada Chakraborty, ex-councillor of AMC

Agartala, August 17: The CPIM state leadership came together to pay their final respects to the departed soul of Haripada Chakraborty, a former councillor of Agartala Municipal Council and a former member of the CPIM Ramnagar Anchal Committee. Chakraborty, who passed away on Thursday, left a significant legacy in local governance and party affairs.

The veteran leader, who had reached the age of approximately 83, breathed his last in a private hospital located in the capital. His demise marked the end of an era marked by dedicated service and commitment to his political ideals.

In a poignant display of honour and remembrance, the body of the late Haripada Chakraborty was brought to the CPIM state office on Thursday. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, CPIM State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury, former MLAs Manik Dey, Pabitra Kar, and other prominent party members gathered to pay their respects, reflecting on the influence and contributions made by the departed leader.

Following this solemn moment, a procession of CPIM leaders, including Ratan Das and Subhasish Ganguly, proceeded to the district office hall where they continued to pay their heartfelt tributes to Haripada Chakraborty. His memory and dedication to the party’s ideals resonated throughout the gathering, serving as a reminder of the enduring impact he had on both the party and the community he served.
