Agartala, 9th June 2026: The Kailashahar Sub-divisional Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] on Tuesday submitted a six-point demand charter to Unakoti District Magistrate and Collector, Megha Jain, highlighting several public welfare issues and employment-related concerns.
A CPI(M) delegation, led by State Committee member Bishwarup Goswami, Kailashahar Sub-divisional Secretary Anjan Roy, and Unakoti District Secretary Swapan Vaishnav, visited the District Magistrate’s office and handed over the memorandum.
Among the key demands, the party sought the regularization of salaries for contractual employees, including MGNREGA staff, Madrasa teachers, SPQEM teachers, and teachers working under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. The memorandum also called for the timely disbursement of social welfare allowances and speedy approval of pending applications submitted by new beneficiaries.
The CPI(M) further urged the district administration to address the growing traffic congestion in Kailasahar town and take effective measures to curb the spread of narcotics in various parts of the district. It also demanded the immediate implementation of MGNREGA and TWEP projects in all panchayat and urban areas, along with the prompt clearance of pending wages of MGNREGA workers.
Additionally, the party sought urgent repair of the road connecting the Kailasahar Dak Bungalow and Rangauti. CPI(M) leaders expressed hope that the district administration would take swift action on the issues raised in the interest of the public. District Magistrate Megha Jain personally received the memorandum.
