Agartala, 29th June 2026: A desperate appeal has been made to the Chief Minister and the nation to save the life of a two-and-a-half-year-old boy suffering from liver failure. The child, son of Rajib Sarkar—a carpenter from Vaishya Para in Ushabazar under the Sadar subdivision—was initially declared healthy after medical tests, but subsequent examinations revealed severe liver damage.
Doctors advised immediate advanced treatment in Delhi, but the cost has proven far beyond the family’s means. As the boy’s condition worsened, he was rushed to GB Hospital on Monday.
The news of the child’s illness spread across social media on Sunday, prompting members of the local Bharat Ratna Club to visit the family on Monday afternoon with financial assistance. Journalists found club representatives and local residents gathered at the Sarkar household, where Rajib Sarkar and club officials appealed for urgent government and public support.
The child’s mother broke down repeatedly while speaking of her son’s deteriorating health. Despite the family’s plea, no government representatives had visited the home as of Monday afternoon. Local residents expressed hope that if the Chief Minister and citizens across the country extend a helping hand, the young boy’s life may yet be saved.
