Agartala, 4th August 2025: A daring burglary took place late last night at a hardware store in the heart of Fultali Bazaar, leaving local traders gripped with anxiety despite the presence of night security personnel.
According to sources, hardware merchant Benu Majumdar had closed his shop as usual and returned home. However, upon arriving on Monday morning, he discovered that his store had been broken into. The perpetrators allegedly forced open the main lock and stole valuable merchandise estimated to be worth over one lakh rupees.
“I’m shocked—how could this happen with a night guard on duty? They broke the lock and took everything in the dark” Majumdar said.
Local business owners are expressing deep concern over the incident, citing security lapses and the growing audacity of criminal gangs. The burglary has stirred fear across the marketplace, with many calling for tighter surveillance measures and police intervention.
