Agartala, 20th April 2026: A disturbing case of suspected land fraud has surfaced in the Nandan Nagar locality of Agartala, close to Don Bosco School, where a deceased man was allegedly shown as alive to facilitate illegal property transactions.
As per the complaint, two individuals, Abdul Karim Miah and Billal Hossain, are accused of fabricating four separate land deeds under the name of Nagendra Sarkar, who had already passed away. These forged documents were then reportedly used to sell the same plot of land to four different buyers, raising serious concerns about fraud and document manipulation.
The family of the late Narendra Sarkar expressed shock upon discovering the alleged scam. Seeking justice, they approached the West District administration and submitted evidence demanding swift action. Officials have acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and indicated that a detailed investigation will be conducted, particularly focusing on how such forged documents were processed.
Ranjit Sarkar, the deceased’s son, condemned the incident and called for strict punishment against those involved. He stated that his father’s identity had been misused in a highly unethical manner and urged authorities to ensure the restoration of their ancestral property.
The case has sparked broader concerns about the verification systems involved in land transactions and the potential loopholes that may allow such fraud to occur. Authorities are expected to initiate a comprehensive probe soon.
