Agartala, October 27, 2022: A residential house was completely destroyed in a devastating fire at an area adjacent of Sri Krishna Temple in Paschim Ghilatali area under Teliamura sub-division on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. However, it is initially estimated that the amount of damage will be several lakhs of rupees.
It is reported that Purnima Debnath, a local resident of Ward No. 5 in Paschim Ghilatali area, like other days, went to her room after finishing her dinner and going to sleep. But all of a sudden, flames were noticed in the house. In no time, the entire house of the woman was destroyed by fire from all sides. At night, when the fire suddenly started to burn, the local residents began to scream and run. The fire brigade personnel were immediately informed.
But after receiving the news, the fire brigade personnel hurriedly rushed to the spot to control the fire, but by that time, no end was saved. The entire house was engulfed in flames before the eye-witnessing people. However, the fire brigade staff could not give the correct information about how the entire house caught on fire. However, it is initially learnt from local sources that this devastating fire started from an electrical short circuit in the house. Although the exact amount of damage is not fully known, it is estimated that there has been a loss of several lakhs of rupees.
After receiving the information, the police officers rushed to the spot. At the same time, an initial investigation was started on the origin of the fire.
On the other hand, speculation has started throughout the conscious circles that if the fire brigade personnel had not come at the right time, then last night, more devastating fire incidents would have taken place in the entire area. Due to the efforts of the fire brigade at the right time, other local houses in the area were narrowly saved. But all in all, the incident of the fire that took place in Paschim Ghilatali late last night has created quite a stir in the public mind in the whole area.
