Agartala, 7th September 2026 : . Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman on Monday inaugurated the annual conference of the Durlabhnarayan Bazar Merchants’ Association at the Durlabhnarayan Panchayat Community Hall, where he held detailed discussions with members of the local business community on development, infrastructure and future plans for the Nalchar Assembly constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Barman said that ongoing and proposed development projects would play an important role in improving the business environment in local markets while benefiting both traders and customers. He said better infrastructure and organised markets would contribute to strengthening the local economy.
“Markets are not merely places for buying and selling; they are the lifeblood of our rural economy and a primary source of livelihood for many families,” Barman said. He stressed that market development, the interests of traders and the convenience of the general public must receive equal importance in the development process.
The minister also listened to various problems, expectations and suggestions raised by members of the business community. He assured them of coordinated efforts to make the markets of Nalchar cleaner, more modern, well-organised and vibrant.
Barman said a developed Nalchar could be built through the combined strength of improved infrastructure, a robust market system and a thriving business community.
He extended his greetings and congratulations to all members of the Durlabhnarayan Bazar Merchants’ Association and expressed hope that Nalchar would emerge as a new hub of development and prosperity.
