Agartala, 1st October 2024: The 9th battalion of TSR celebrated its 23rd Foundation Day on Tuesday at the Camp Headquarters in Sanchirambari, Santirbazar subdivision. The event was marked by a series of social programs including a blood donation camp and aid distribution to flood-affected families.
Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan graced the occasion as the chief guest. He was joined by Additional Director General of Police GS Rao, Director General of Police IGP Cherik Marak, Assistant Inspector General of Police R Darlong, Superintendent of Police South District Ashok Kumar Sinha and Commandant of 9th battalion of TSR Alok Bhattacharya among others.
The celebration began with the dignitaries visiting the blood donation camp organized by the TSR Jawans of the 9th battalion. “I encourage all jawans to donate blood and contribute to this noble cause,” said DG Ranjan commending the efforts of the participants.
Following the camp visit, the guests toured a photo booth showcasing various programs conducted by the 9th battalion of TSR jawans. The booth highlighted the diverse activities and initiatives undertaken by the jawans.
In a heartwarming gesture, clothes were distributed to flood-affected families on the occasion of Puja. Speaking at the event, DG Ranjan praised the TSR jawans for their dedication and service. “The TSR jawans have played a crucial role in assisting the people during the floods this year,” he noted emphasizing their commitment to the community.
The Foundation Day celebration underscored the 9th battalion of TSR’s ongoing efforts to support and uplift the local community through various social initiatives.
