Dhanpur mandal felicitates new minister Kishor Barman; Calls for grassroots support in fulfilling Panchayat and Education duties

Agartala, 3^rd August 2025:  The Dhanpur Mandal of the BJP organized a grand reception for the newly appointed Panchayat and Higher Education minister Kishor Barman at the Kathalia Community Hall today. The event was attended by party workers, local leaders, representatives from social organizations, and well-known citizens, all gathered to extend their congratulations.

In an emotionally charged address, Minister Barman expressed his gratitude and humility before the gathering. “I have come to Kathalia today seeking your blessings and cooperation. I never imagined in my political life that I would be given the opportunity to serve as a minister,” he stated drawing applause from the audience.

The Minister credited his appointment to the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee. However, he emphasized that his responsibilities now extend beyond his home constituency of Nalchar.

“This is not just about Nalchar or even Sonamura subdivision—this is about the entire state. I need your help, and the help of every party worker, to carry forward the responsibilities of the Panchayat and Higher Education departments,” he added.

The reception program was conducted in two phases. Initially, local representatives from the three-tier Panchayat system, members of the Kathalia business community and various school authorities were felicitated.

The second phase featured brief addresses from Dhanpur MLA Bindu Debnath, Dhanpur Mandal President Bipul Majumdar, Sipahijala South District President Uttam Das, MDC Padma Lochan Tripura, and others. All speakers expressed joy over Kishore Barman’s elevation, calling it the fulfillment of a long-standing aspiration in the assembly constituency.

“For the first time since the formation of the BJP-led government, a legislator from the Sonamura subdivision has been given a ministerial berth. This is a significant moment for us,” noted MDC Padma Lochan Tripura during his remarks.

Kathalia-based social worker and Panchayat Samiti member Ratan Debnath and Mithu Rani Das, Chairperson of the Block Panchayat Samiti were present.
