Dharmanagar Kalidighi undergoes beautification, resembling Mata Tripura Sundari Temple at Udaipur

Agartala, 18th January 2025:   In an ambitious beautification drive, Dharmanagar Kalidighi situated in the heart of Dharmanagar is transforming into a picturesque site reminiscent of Mata Tripura Sundari Temple at Udaipur. This initiative was led by the Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly and Dharmanagar MLA Biswa Bandhu Sen, has introduced various types of lighting and decorated the area with variegated trees.

The efforts have turned the surroundings of Kalidighi into a vibrant and illuminated space at night, enhancing the city’s charm. “Our goal is to make Dharmanagar as beautiful and appealing as Udaipur Matabari. The lighting and plantation drive is just the beginning,” said MLA Biswabandhu Sen.

Dharmanagar Kalidighi has a deep cultural and religious significance. With many traditions associated with it, the site attracts numerous visitors daily. “There’s a unique emotion tied to Kalidighi among the traditional religious community,” remarked a local resident.

In a notable event on Saturday, a young man named Ayan Nag, a local resident ceremoniously released a turtle into the pond. Speaking to the media, Ayan detailed the significance of his act, emphasizing the continued practice of life releases by both government and private initiatives. “It’s heartening to see people coming together to maintain and honor the traditions linked with Kalidighi,” Ayan said.

The beautification project has garnered appreciation from both residents and visitors, further strengthening the cultural and aesthetic appeal of Dharmanagar.
