Agartala, 24th March 2026: Under the initiative of the Department of Skill Development and in collaboration with the Land Port Authority of India, a training program on Digital Mitra was held yesterday at the Akhaura Land Port. The program was organized under the Prime Minister’s Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0.
Dr. Rekha Raikar Kumar, Member (Finance) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, said during her address that developing digital skills will play a crucial role in preparing the youth of the state for the future. She emphasized that the Digital Mitra program will help young people acquire essential digital skills and will particularly enhance the quality of services in border areas.
Pradeep Krishna Raj, Director of the Department of Skill Development, stated that the state government is committed to strengthening skill development systems and creating employment opportunities for the youth. He added that the main objective of the Digital Mitra program is to train young people in delivering digital and e-governance services at the grassroots level.
The program is expected not only to expand employment opportunities for young people but also to support entrepreneurship development.
Other dignitaries present at the event included Dr. Vishal Kumar District Magistrate of West Tripura, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Director of the Department of Industries and Commerce, and officials from the Land Port Authority of India.
